Opened in Seattle in 1975, Fred Hutch combines innovative research and compassionate care to prevent and eliminate cancer and infectious disease for every person in every community. The Remala Foundation has consistently supported Fred Hutch for decades, inspired in part by Satya’s mother, who lost her life to cancer.

The Remala Foundation made their first gift to Fred Hutch in the 1990s and has steadily supported the organization since, with the whole Remala family often attending the organization’s annual gala together. The Foundation has contributed to a wide variety of efforts at the Hutch, ranging from pediatric oncology to immunotherapy and much more.

“We are delivering advances that reshape research, reset the standards in cancer care and prevention, and lead to healthier lives for people everywhere,” says Thomas J. Lynch Jr., MD, the Hutch’s President and Raisbeck Endowed Chair.
